Cleaning Up the Rosette
In this picture, exactly one half of the rosette is cleaned up already. This work process needs a tremendous amount of concentration, a steady hand and a good eye. In some areas, one has to cut against the grain into the spruce, giving every rosette component a clean and artistic harmonic shape. This can be done without any sort of backing, but needs to be performed with a ot of caution. At this stage, parts of the rosette could easily break off. Can you see right away which rosette side is cleaned up and which isn’t?
